INCARNATION FIVE POINTED STAR

*The five pointed star in christian tradition represents the five wounds of Christ crucified and is a symbol for a person.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

God, the divine Lapidary who created us, saw that his sons and daughters no longer reflected light. The brilliant gemstones he had made were now full of scratches and chips. Being God, he could have started over and made new gemstones.  But God loved his original work and decided to repair all the gemstones He had made.

To accomplish this repair, God became the most brilliant gemstone the world had ever seen. “And the word became flesh and dwelled among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the only begotten Son of God” (John 1:14}.

God wanted his created gemstones to be even more brilliant than when he first made them.  He wanted them to share in his brilliance through the gift of incarnation.  Irenaeus, the spiritual grandson of the apostle John, put it this way: “The Word became what we are, so that we can become what he is!”

And so without ceasing to be God, he incomprehensibly became the most brilliant gemstone the world had ever seen. “And the Word became flesh and dwelled among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the only begotten Son of God”. (John 1:14)

Having made the repairs,  He willed  that His gemstones should be even more brilliant than they were when he first made them. He wanted them to share in His brilliance(2 Pet. 1:4)  Irenaeus, the spiritual grandson of John the evangelist, along with others, put it this way. “ The Word …became what we are, so that we can become what he is”.
