TRINITY THREE POINTED STAR
The Gemstone of the Holy Trinity
The Gift of divine relationships
Scripture and tradition describes the triune God as a divine interpersonal relationship consisting of three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Within this relationship there are no conflicts or misunderstandings. Its nature is absolute harmony that flows out of the divine love that the three persons have for one another. We cannot imagine them arguing among themselves about how best to deal with us. Their harmonious existence makes them one.
On the eve of his crucifixion, Christ expressed his desire that we would develop the same kind of relationships here on earth. (John 17:21) His motive for wanting this is clear when he says; “when they are one, then they can also be one in us”. Christ our God wants to have the same kind of relationship with each one of us as He has with His Father and the Holy Spirit and He describes how we must interact with one another to make that happen.
We must emulate the divine model if we wish to be “in Them”. It is a daunting task, but doable according to St Paul who said; “ (we) can do all things through Christ who strengthens (us)”. (Phil. 4:13) If we want harmonious personal relationships, Christ our friend will help us. This is the gift of the Holy Trinity implied in the image of the Three Pointed Star.
